The “La Mer de Pagode” or “The Sea’s Pagoda” was born from a memory I dreamed of having.

I used to spend hours staring at fountains, completely absorbed by their amazing colors and sounds and creatures. I would imagine what incredible worlds existed beneath the surface of the waters, what strange inhabitants and kingdoms were just beyond my reach. One of my favorite parts of these reveries were the images of underwater fountains. How they were waters within waters, forming and then dissolving into the surrounding liquid. My memory, or dream of a memory, is captured within this piece: a tiny island from underneath the waters of imagination.
